From a more elegant period this held ink for your fountain pen. Using a fountain pen is really great but if you don’t use one this piece is pretty cool as a trinket box, jewelry holder or just beautiful decor on a stack of books or on a shelf. Made by Meriden Silverplate it is monogrammed on top with FDJ, but who cares!
